Ardington is a small village in the Vale of White Horse, Oxfordshire, historically part of Berkshire until the 1974 boundary changes. The name follows the familiar Old English pattern of a personal name plus -tun, 'farmstead or estate', and is conventionally linked to a figure recorded as Earda. The village's best-known building, Ardington House, dates from the early 18th century.
